CDG is using creative placemaking strategies to establish a San Francisco neighborhood as a hybrid tech and arts cultural district, job incubator, and tourist destination. SEE NEWS
CDG was enlisted by local artist and gallery owner residents to develop an urban plan for a new cultural - technology district that draws on the exisitng high density of similar individuals and organizations in the neighborhood. We have identified the benefits that such a designated district would bring and are completing an analysis of local creative assets and surveying local, state, and federal resources. Our staff is also designing a local cultural walk with an interactive kiosk installation using sensor-projectors and interactive street furniture. Among the other technologies we are suggesting for identity devices are near field radio, QR codes, and interactive digital projections inside empty storefronts.
