The goal in this retail space was to dramatize the jewellry and create a rich setting for it. CDG used a strategy of intense lighting focused at the jewellry and sensuous shaping of the space.
Intensely focused fiber optic lighting was installed inside the casework in minimalist fixtures to create heightened sparkling of the gemstones. LED lighting techniques were also used in the space, stylized ceiling, and wall display cases to further enhance the drama.
The client desired to maintain a somewhat traditional feel but still have contemporary elements. So we designed the casework with curved features for a softer almost romantic touch together with a traditional cherry wood veneer for a luxurious finish. The contemporay styled ceiling panels echoed the casework curves while adding a dynamic look that attracted shoppers into the space. In addition we produced all construction documents and administered construction, and obtained all permit approvals.
